The UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds organization has recently published the QS World University Rankings 2025. They actually include a total of 1,503 universities across 105 countries and regions in the world. According to their report, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the best university in the world.
The US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) university earns 100 out of 100 for its overall performance. Imperial College London and the University of Oxford have been ranked second and third best universities in the world by scoring 98.5 and 96.9 out of 100, respectively.
Moreover, the National University of Singapore has been ranked 8th, and Peaking University in China has been ranked 14th globally as well as the best university in Asia. However, it is important to note that the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the wealthiest and most developed country in the Middle East, is making impressive progress in the field of higher education.
According to the report of QS World University Rankings 2025, as an influential country in the Middle East, a total of 12 universities in the UAE have been included in this newly published university ranking for 2025. Khalifa University in the UAE has ranked 202nd by scoring 46.1 out of 100.
The United Arab Emirates University has been ranked 261st, and the American University of Sharjah has been listed as the 232nd best university globally. The University of Sharjah has ranked 434th, Ajman University has ranked 477th, and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah has ranked 485th as the best university in the world.
On the other hand, Abu Dhabi University has ranked 501st, Canadian University Dubai has ranked 523rd, Al Ain University has ranked 552nd, American University in Dubai has ranked from 621st to 630th, Zayed University has ranked from 621st to 630th, and the University of Dubai has ranked from 851st to 900th position in the world.
In fact, in recent years, the UAE government has achieved significant progress in the development of the country’s overall education sector. On November 20, 2023, the honorable Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, approved a budget of 246.6 billion dirhams, or $67.14 billion, for 2024 to strengthen science and technology and to keep pace with the modern world.##
